About the Founding Pastor

 

Our founding pastor, Reverend Yulanda McKinney, who passed the lead mantle in January 2023, presently serves as AFCFC, Inc.'s Administrative Pastor and Christian Education Institute Director.

 

Professionally, Pastor McKinney ("Pastor Mac") holds multiple Master's Degrees, as well as a Bachelor's.  She is passionate about education, literacy, and advocacy for those without a voice, and has served on numerous professional boards including the Volunteers of America of Western New York; the National Two-Year College Association’s Editorial Board; and ChurchUnited, an ecumenical board of pastors in the city of Rochester, to name a few.  Pastor McKinney has been a full-time professor within the greater Rochester community for the past 22 years.

 

John 9:4 embodies the essence of Pastor Mac’s call and ministry to serve:

“I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh,

when no man can work.”

Pastor Mac is a gifted speaker, compassionate preacher, and dedicated teacher.  She has presented academic research at international

conferences; spoken at professional conferences; ministered the gospel in various denominational, congregational, and theological settings; 

facilitated lectures and workshops in all modalities; and served as keynote speaker for religious retreats, conferences and programs, social and

fraternal banquets, church anniversaries, even community and women's history celebrations.

 

An experienced and respected "teaching preacher", Pastor Mac loves sharing her academic trainings and expertise with the body of Christ as a

Christian Education instructor, facilitator, and curriculum design consultant. Her personable ministry and style of bible study facilitation,

church-school programming and design, conference planning and workshop facilitation, and adult/experiential course development have gained

popularity over the years, and most recently, a considerable following on social media platforms. She is widely sought, but more importantly,

willing to help Christian ministries design bible-based, educational programming that teaches and preaches the same Gospel of Jesus Christ

across diverse traditions, modalities, and generations.
